NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter imaged a new 18-meter crater at 19.4759°N, 266.7138°E after a Falcon 9 upper stage hit the Moon on 5 August 2026. JPL’s CNEOS prediction, handed to South Korea’s Danuri, was accurate to about 0.6 miles. This is catalog hygiene and camera geometry, not a kinetic-deflection test.
University of Innsbruck, RWTH Aachen, Forschungszentrum Jülich and AQT report in Nature Communications a trapped-ion demonstration of measurement-free universal logical quantum computation: Grover’s search on three logical qubits in the error-detecting [[8,3,2]] color code, no mid-circuit measurements. Experimental success probability 0.40(4), below the classical 0.46.
NASA Ames reported on 17 August 2026 that Starling’s FALCON experiment used star-tracker cameras and an onboard catalog of about 20,000 space objects to determine its own orbit without GPS, and in three days improved the known orbits of more than 200 objects.
NASA’s 25 Aug 2026 Roman blog: the encapsulated observatory arrived Tuesday at the SpaceX hangar at LC-39A. Mating is still ahead. A Launch Readiness Review is Friday 28 August, the final go/no-go before a targeted 7:26 a.m. EDT Sunday 30 August (8:26 a.m. BRT) liftoff. Coverage opens 6:20 a.m. EDT. M26-063 still does not list SpaceX’s quoted Monday 31 August 7:22 a.m. ET backup. The WFI is 18 × 4,096² pixels — 301,989,888, which NASA rounds to 300 megapixels.
TU Wien, the University of Vienna, JKU Linz and the University of Innsbruck show — on paper, and now in hardware — how to read the quantum information each electron already carries, so beam-sensitive samples can be imaged with fewer particles. The design is in Physical Review Letters; the instrument is being assembled at USTEM.
OpenClaw turns the messaging apps you already use into a control plane for AI agents — with a persistent gateway, pluggable channels, and a session model that feels more like an operating system than a chatbot. Here’s what this phenomenon is, why it’s emerging now, and where it m
